In The Weeds is run by me, Gloria Dawson, a writer and editor who has covered the restaurant industry for publications like Nation’s Restaurant News, Business Insider, the New York Times, and Eater for about 15 years. Over the years, I noticed a gap in coverage and in community spaces geared to independent restaurants. My hope is for In the Weeds to become a space where restaurant industry folks can share their successes and missteps and generally celebrate and commiserate about restaurant life.
This publication is dedicated to covering independent restaurant stories, but everyone is welcome at the table.
